Laura Is The Tan, Silent Type
The young woman, who provided her name only as Laura, seemed to prefer keeping to herself despite the raucous party roaring around her. While partygoers drank and caroused around the house, Laura turned her attentions inward upon her thoughts and feelings, which were of no interest to anyone else. She thought about how much she enjoyed the color green and saying the word “thong” in front of her grandfather. She drank beer after beer in silence, secretly hoping someone might ask her about her tan. Her tan was a point of pride and she took pains to make sure it was always deep and luxurious. The ability to bronze her skin so completely was just one of the perks of managing a tanning salon and she was often able to observe the male clientele disrobing though narrow slats in the cabana style doors. She cried when driven home, for reasons even she did not understand, but the depth and intensity of her tan uplifted her heart and she was not sad for long.
